IONM Service

Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) and Electromyography (EMG) are diagnostic tests used to determine nerve injury and neuromuscular abnormalities. These tests are performed in a clinical setting and used to give information to your physician so he/she can determine the most appropriate treatment plan.

Intraoperative neuromonitoring or IONM, is an additional level of protection for your nervous system during a surgical procedure. We monitor your nerves and brain function in order to give your surgeon real-time information of the status of your neurological system. We are also on-line with a qualified neurologist who sees everything in real-time. This greatly increases the chances of a positive outcome of your surgery.

Electroencephalogram (EEG) is the measurement of the brain's electrical activity and is used to help diagnose any brain abnormalities.

Surgery can be stressful and you will probably me nervous. Click on the "Go to link" below and you can print out what to expect from our Surgical Neuro Technologist. Knowing ahead of time of what to expect can sometimes be comforting.
